What would I do without them to keep me laughing?Dear Brain I love my crazy fur kids! You should know that by now I guess.
A couple of things I want to mention. Good things, Brain. Things that make life sweet. First of all there was a toad in the cat's outside water dish this morning and best of all, it was Alive! I had to fish it out since it seemed to be stuck, but it sat calmly, drying off, while I took some pictures of it. I cant find it in any of my field guides so am not sure what kind it was.
Slowly my yard and garden are becoming a home for wildlife. I saw a hummingbird at our feeder the other day and two nights ago B. found a little Texas Blind Snake out on the back porch. I did not photograph it because I was so happy to see it (they eat termites and ants) I didn't want to put it off taking up residence in our yard. I'm praying that the organic pest control we are using will not effect these little critters. I think I found the entrance to the tarantula's burrow out by the rain barrels. I have been intending to stake it out some evening to see if I can confirm that for sure, but haven't gotten around to it. I'm just so happy to see these little fellows. In addition to being adorable they are great pest control and will no doubt help the garden out immensely!
SO cute! I cant identify him in any of my books though. Anyonehave any idea what kind of toad he is?
My art on post cards! Now if only someone else was footing theprinting bill!
And then these arrived in the mail today. I had ordered them from Moo (one of my favorite printing companies). I took a fantastic class at AMOA's art school called The Business of Art. The instructor was Jan Heaton . Its really worth a few seconds, you should click on that last link. Jan has been profiled in (my favorite magazine) More magazine and has work displayed all over the world. Her paintings are very inspirational to me. Jan suggested the post cards as a self promotional tool and I think they're wonderful. I dont know how much promotion I'll get out of them since the only people I have to send them to at the moment are friends, but I'm working on changing that. Just dropped off one of my drawings at another art show here in Round Rock, today. I have another show coming up in July as well, but more on that when the time is closer. Its good to see stuff printed. it makes me believe I can actually do this. My art looks GREAT printed out. I keep going back and looking at it over and over. Marveling.
